Fifteen-year-old Kristina’s life changed in May 2019: the girl became very sleepy and sluggish, speech disorders and shakiness when walking appeared. The cause of these symptoms was found out only a few months later — in October, an MRI examination showed the presence of a brain tumor. Kristina was operated on, but it was not possible to completely remove the tumor. She underwent 2 courses of chemotherapy, and after that the doctors recommended her to start proton therapy — a modern and high-precision type of radiation therapy that allows treatment with minimal risk of irradiation of healthy tissues. The girl’s family will not be able to pay for it on their own.
Kristina is really looking forward to being able to return to her old life — go to school, and in the evenings meet friends, walk, laugh and make plans for the future. Let’s support the girl’s family during this difficult period and help Kristina overcome the disease.
